Lara holds a Master’s degree in social work from Virginia Commonwealth University and is working towards clinical licensure in Virginia. She has helped clients with a wide variety of mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, childhood trauma, PTSD, intimate partner abuse, body image issues, gender and sexual orientation issues, grief, ADHD, OCD, and life transitions.

Lara believes that one of the primary keys to wellness is emotional safety — both internal and external. She encourages clients to achieve that safety through a variety of methods that include emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and body-based techniques. Lara is trained in the body-based clinical methods of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and EFT Tapping. In addition, she works with couples and families using a systems perspective and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
