Stephanie earned her MSW from Virginia Commonwealth University and her B.S. in Justice Studies from James Madison University. She has experience working with teens and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, self-harming behaviors and enjoys helping others find meaning and purpose in life.
Before joining Granato, Stephanie worked in an inpatient psychiatric hospital where she worked with clients struggling through a variety of personal and familial stressors. It was in this crisis-stabilization setting that Stephanie learned the importance of mental health maintenance as an ongoing and fluid process.
Stephanie is skilled in person-centered and strengths-based approaches through which she allows clients to be the driver of their own treatment. She utilizes techniques from CBT, DBT, and psychodynamic theory to assist clients as they navigate challenges, explore self-image, align values with actions, and overall, improve their mental health.
